Size and shape, imagery, colors, text(s) and mediums will be considered to reflect the aesthetic taste and content ideas which make each couple unique. This ketubah combines both cutting and painting. The ketubah has an outer border created with an intricate oriental motif. The four medallions in the corners speak to the couple's commitment to their Judaism and future Jewish home together. The two paper cut trees which surround the text are backed with a paper made of tree bark and the leaves of the trees are backed in various colored papers.

This intricate cut and painted ketubah reflects the carpet page approach to illumination. The intricate borders within borders are painted and/or tea-stained to give an effect of light which moves the eye around the piece naturally. The main border has been cut out first and then treated with color. Two medallions at the top and bottom show intertwined rings, gilded in 23k gold leaf and at the bottom a day to night illustration symbolizing the couple's choice to spend their lives together.

This ornate Ketubah combines detailed painting and papercutting. The branches of this family tree also depicts a Menorah behind the Ketubah text. The couples lineage is depicted by richly colored paintings of the cities from which their families originated. A papercut hamsa at the top symbolizes protection from the evil eye, promoting luck for a happy future.

This ketubah is entirely cut by hand and backed in a variety of beautiful papers. Entirely based on images from nature, it features two entwined trees as well as the seven species which represent the land of Israel and the couple's favorite flowers, callalilies. The text is hand written and mounted in an organically shaped area in the center. The trees and plants are gracefully placed, as if moving in the wind. Leaves that are floating to the ground from the trees provide areas for textual verses.

The stone archway surrounding the text of this ketubah is designed with symbols of the 12 tribes of Israel. Throughout this ketubah, painted elements are connected to each other with paper cut flora. Always unique to the time this ketubah was created, is the palm pilot featuring the date of the couple's first meeting. Other motifs, both judaic and personal are painted in detailed fashion. At the very top of the ketubah is an extremely detailed family tree, making this one to pass down through the generations.

Like and ornate oriental rug, this ketubah uses a "border within border" motif to create 3 distinct but harmonic areas of interest. The outside border, a painted paper cut which sits upon a rainbow roll background which takes you visually from day to night, features Jerusalem, pomegranates and grapes. Domes in the Jerusalem portion are gilded in 23K gold leaf.

Entirely painted in the rich jewel tones of gouache, this ketubah evokes the gorgeous tones of fall. The trees are joined at the top by rings, gilded in 23k gold leaf. At the very top of the ketubah is a medallion which depicts Jerusalem. The eye follows the pleasing scrolling shapes for which the artist is known.

This custom ketubah is almost entirely paper cut. Beneath the text is one painted element, a menorah. Separating the Aramaic and English texts are the words from Song of Songs,

Inspired by the Moorish tones and motifs of Spain, this ketubah's essential motif is the star of David. Treated with detailed and crisp cutting, painting and calligraphy which is adorned with gold leaf in paint form, the stars 6 points each hold a verse associated with love - both from Song of Songs and other sources chosen by the couple.

This couple's wedding took place in a natural setting in Maine. The oak tree and the flowering magnolia form a chuppah to visualize the joining together of this bride and groom. The text is written over the background of the sky, harmonizing with the rest of the painting. It is created on a fine hand made watercolor paper from the Twin Rocker Mills in Indiana and has a beautiful deckled edge.
