The following are examples of custom made papercuts for Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrants. They focus on the name of the celebrant or the particular Torah portion associated with the Shabbat of the celebration.

This multi-layered papercut is based on the name Ze'ev, or wolf. It is also used to represent the name Benjamin, as the tribe of Benjamin was represented by the image of the wolf.

This papercut with multi-colored background papers is based on the name Joseph. Some appropriate Torah portions represented by this papercut would be Vayeshev, Miketz, Vayigash and Vayehi. The imagery represents Joseph's famous dream and also includes the famous "boys blessing", "May you grow to be like Ephraim and Menasseh"

This papercut incorporates paint, papercut and hand painted paper to create a feeling of humanity connected to the infinite spaces of the universe and G-d. It includes a quote which references the personal struggles that each individual encounters in his/her lifetime and the fact that each individual is special and therefore has something unique to offer the world at large.

This "Joseph's coat" was made for a Bat Mitzvah celebrant and includes the blessing for girls as well as the priestly blessings and the image of a havdalah candle.

This papercut garden gate uses the blooming flowers to represent a lovely quote from Franz Werfel, "What is happiness other than the grace of being permitted to unfold to their fullest bloom all the spiritual powers planted within us". The Shehechianu atop the garden gate proclaims thanks to G-d for reaching the Bat Mitzvah of the girl who received this.

This papercut was inspired by the words, "...I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Me..." spoken by G-d in the Torah portion Yitro. Hand painted and Japanese lace papers enhance the imagery and quote included in both Hebrew and English.

The images in this painted papercut refer to the Torah portion Tzav. They represent the instructions on animal sacrifices that were made to G-d and show the alter and flames which include the quote:"A perpetual fire shall be kept burning on the altar, not to go out." Leviticus 6:6

This image of Sarah in her tent conveys the welcoming aura of Sarah's home and shows her lighting the candles, a symbol for the special connection that Jewish women make with G-d when they bring light into the home. As a most important matriarch of the Jews, the vision of Sarah in her tent has special meaning to all Jews everywhere.

This creation centered papercut was designed for a Bat Mitzvah with the name Orit. The root of the name means light and is gilded in gold leaf into the center of the sun/moon from which everything radiates.

This papercut focuses on the image of the lily and is based on a quote from Hosea 14:6 (haftarah for Vayetzei-Ashkenazim)): "I will be as the dew unto Israel...He (Israel) shall blossom as the lily" - G-d promises that Israel will be restored to renewed vigor, both spiritual and physical in response to Hosea's call to Israel to repent for the worship of idols and the people's desire for a king.

Illustrating the Torah portion Yitro, are the 10 commandments given to Moses on Mount Sinai. This painted papercut is created inside the overall shape of an open Torah scroll and narrates the story visually. On the Eitzei Hayim, the 10 commandments are scribed in English. This papercut would be appropriate for any Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebrant.
